SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Fiction
Fiction is generally in the form of short stories, although we accept lengthier pieces. We also publish novel excerpts. Manuscripts must be typed in double-space. We are open to most styles and approaches whether more traditional or experimental, that are off-beat, penetrating, and surprising.

Poetry
The Ngoh-Kuoh Review is interested in poems of any length or aesthetic bent. Poetry submissions should consist of one to five poems, depending on length – up to five short poems, two longer ones, or one really long one in any one submission. For a book-length epic, consider sending it in excerpts.

Essays/ArticlesWe look for essays/articles on a wide variety of subjects. Preference is given to essays/articles that handle a subjected related to Cameroon Literature. We accept Essays in any of the following forms: creative nonfiction, commentary, memoir, biography, and autobiography. The length should be maximum sixteen manuscript pages, but we welcome shorter essays. Manuscripts must conform to the latest edition of the MLA Reference guide. ALL academic articles go through the process of peer review. 

Book-Reviews
The Ngoh-Kuoh Review publishes short reviews of recently published books.  We encourage that reviews should be a more extensive assessments of new publications. Reviews that offer insights both broader and deeper than whether a given book is good, bad, or mediocre are generally preferable.

Response Time and Inquiries
We send replies acknowledging receipt of works but you must give our Editors reasonable time to receive a response about your work. We ask you to be patient and refrain from inquiring about your manuscript’s status until at least one month has passed. If you do decide to inquire, send queries to the Managing Editor at ngohkuoh-review@miraclairebooks.com.

Lost or Damaged Manuscripts
The Ngoh-Kuoh Review accepts no responsibility for, and will not engage in correspondence about, lost or damaged manuscripts.
